China launches Beijing-Moscow test passenger train for first time since COVID
For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, Chinese Railways has launched a Beijing-Ulaanbaatar-Moscow passenger train in test mode. Based on the results of the tests, a decision will be made to operate this train on the Russian infrastructure and run the train on a permanent basis, the press service of Russian Railways reported.

For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, Chinese Railways has launched a Beijing-Ulaanbaatar-Moscow passenger train in test mode. Based on the results of the tests, a decision will be made to operate this train on the Russian infrastructure and run the train on a permanent basis, the press service of Russian Railways reported.
Passenger service between Russia and China was canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. In particular, the train No. 3/4 Beijing - Moscow "Chinese Railways" was temporarily suspended. “According to the results of the pilot trip, a decision will be made on the possibility of operating this rolling stock on the infrastructure of Russian Railways and running the train <...> on a regular basis,” RIA Novosti quotes the message of Russian Railways. The train consists of 12 cars of Chinese production: six compartments, two SV, one staff, one luggage and two power station cars. Previously, they were not used on Russian railways. The train left Beijing on February 25. He is due to arrive in Moscow on March 11. The train is accompanied by technical specialists from the Russian and Chinese sides. In July 2024, freight trains began regular transportation of goods between Moscow and Beijing.
