"Dreams of Alexandrinka" - a new special project of the St. Petersburg theater allows you to visit a space that is usually inaccessible to the audience. The first of the four performances of the new cycle was Nadezhda Kohanova’s plastic performance Mayday 3. The name is an international distress signal. The laboratory "Dreams of Alexandrinka" is part of the Year of Young Directorship, which is held by the theater. “The theatre is a living creature. And to all living Alexandrinsky Theatre, we believe, dreams are dreamed. Therefore, we decided to explore this topic and ask the directors, in fact, whom we selected to our laboratory, to think about it, explained Anastasia Antonenkova, curator of the special project “Dreams of Alexandrinka”. “This programme aims to support young directors. So that young people can implement some of their experimental ideas. The theater is developing new spaces, and this also moves to look for new ways of expression, a new theatrical language, said Nikita Kobelev, artistic director of the Alexandrinsky Theatre.
