Today in Ossetia remember the national poet Shamil Dzhikaev. He would have turned 85. Shamil Fedorovich is the author of many monographs and collections of scientific and critical articles. Since 1970 he began working at North Ossetian State University. In 1990, the faculty of Ossetian philology and journalism was opened in SOSU. Shamil Dzhikaev headed the department of Ossetian literature, and since 1996 he is the head of the department of Ossetian literary creativity.
