The economist linked the strengthening of the ruble in recent weeks with the launch of a dialogue between Russia and the United States. According to our estimates, the fair value of the ruble may fluctuate for this year in the range of 80 to 100 rubles per dollar, and all this will largely depend on how the process of restoring political dialogue ends. If we assume in the baseline scenario that reality does not radically change, then the fair value of the ruble is still closer to three-digit values, and our estimate of the fair value of the exchange rate will be slightly weaker than 100, Kuzmin said. According to the expert, the ruble exchange rate during the year will fluctuate amid the possibility of reducing geopolitical tensions and lifting a significant part of sanctions against Russia.
