In the exposition - more than 150 handmade fragments

“Embroidered map of the Lipetsk region” – the final exposition of a large-scale exhibition project was opened today in the regional museum of local lore. Among the exhibits is the map itself and fragments of embroidery, which became its prototype. Most of the folk ornaments were preserved on the towels, which decorated the home iconostasis. In the square frame are authentic tissue samples. In addition, as examples, the patterns of a shoe - or slats - were used. The exhibition contains more than 150 fragments of embroidery. During the year, the exhibition was replenished with new exhibits. In each municipality, the craftsmen sewed bags for linden flowers with folk patterns. And Terbunsky, Zadonsky and Chaplyginsky districts presented their embroidered maps. In the center of the hall is the embroidered map of the Lipetsk region. This is a gift of masters from all municipalities for the 70th anniversary of the region. Elena Zinina, the artist of the Romanov toy department of the Center for the Development of Culture of the Lipetsk region: - We conducted research work, identified ornaments - often repeated or some unusual, and it was the ornament of this area that formed the basis of the map. Then we combined all these fragments, and we made a single canvas. During the year, visitors to the Kremlin Palace, the exhibition “Russia” at VDNKh, and residents of the municipalities of the Lipetsk region, where embroidery was created, got acquainted with the exhibition. In the regional center, the exposition can be seen until March 2.
