In the forests of the region, it is necessary to intensify work on the creation of mineralized strips and the care of fire breaks around settlements. Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Environmental Protection Alexey Kiselev noted the importance of creating fire-fighting mineralized strips around settlements. According to him, this year the lands of the forest fund will be built 2.5 km of roads, which are designed to protect against fires. In the republic, 123 km of such roads are maintained, 921 km of fire-fighting mineralized strips are equipped. Work is ahead to clean up fire breaks. It is necessary to install 672 stands, signs and signs, as well as 411 barriers and barriers. The work will primarily be carried out on areas bordering settlements. In connection with early spring, the fire season of 2025 will open in the first decade of April.
