The exposition combines the works of masters of the XIX-XXI centuries.
The exhibition "Heirs: from the classics of the XIX century to the classics of the XXI century" is held in the exhibition halls of the Present Places of the Kazan Kremlin. Several sections reflect fundamental themes in art: mythology, city, landscape, genre scenes, interior, still life and portrait. Through the works of masters of three centuries, curators trace the changes in creative approaches and artistic practices. The exposition includes paintings, graphics, interactive installations and digital works. The aim of the project is to show how the ideas and techniques of the predecessors influenced contemporary artists. “We are making this exhibition an educational project. Don’t be afraid of contemporary art. It’s a new language, a visual language that needs to be taught, and there are exhibitions for that, says exhibition organiser Pierre-Christian Brochet.
