Winter is the most difficult time for animals. Snowfalls force ungulates, who live in the middle mountains, to go down to the valley of the Mzymta River in search of food. “Many years of practice have shown that deer, deer, chamois and wild boar prefer corn. Not only ungulates, but also raccoons and jackals come to feed feeders in winter, said Denis Ryltsev, head of the environmental service of the Rosa Khutor resort. In total, 10 feeding stations have been installed at the ski resort. Each contains up to 12 kilograms of corn. In addition, special salt is placed in the feeders. It helps animals make up for mineral deficiencies that are essential for lactation and horn growth. It also includes medicines for parasites.
