In the mountains of Sochi, rescuers found the body of a skier who disappeared after an avalanche on February 24. This is reported by the EMERCOM of Russia.
The deceased was found almost at the lower edge of the avalanche under a snow mass of 2.5 meters thick. The body was lifted aboard the departmental helicopter with a winch. The avalanche descended on the southern slope of Aibgi outside the equipped routes of the Rosa Khutor resort. Three skiers were in the danger zone that day. Two snowboarders were evacuated the following day. Due to weather conditions, the search for a third rider was interrupted. Later it was reported that the missing 28-year-old ski instructor Ivan Khorkov.
