The head of the regional capital Alexei Ogonkov signed a decree on the installation of a memorial stone to the Tver crew of the Il-76, which crashed in the Ivanovo region.
A memorial stone to the heroic crew will be installed on Gaidar Street. Design, manufacture and installation will be engaged in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. In March last year in the Ivanovo region crashed military transport aircraft Il-76, on Board which were pilots from Tver. Realizing that it would not be possible to save the plane, they decided to take it away from populated areas to prevent an even greater tragedy. All 15 people on board, including eight crew members and seven passengers, were killed. By the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the commander of the aircraft Sergey Sveshnikov was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation.
