A group of pensioners decide to commit the largest robbery in British history. The operation is led by 77-year-old Brian Reader, known as the King of Thieves. He assembles a team of experienced criminals to steal a huge amount of money from the Hutt Garden depository. The robbery is successful and the thieves escape the scene with a huge amount of crisp bills. Soon, however, the police are on their trail. There is a rift between gang members as some want to split the loot and escape, while others insist on a new robbery.
