The Tyumen region is preparing for the start of the reforestation season. For this purpose, a reserve was formed - more than 7 tons of seeds of coniferous tree species. They are designed to restore forest areas that have been cut down or destroyed by fire. Now in the warehouse of the Tyumen airbase are the entire supply of seeds for the restoration of forests in our region. In such containers it is stored until March. The room has a plus temperature, so the grains are stored better. This batch of more than 70 kg of ordinary pine went to the Abat district. One hectare of land will be planted there this year. More than 800,000 new trees are expected to be born. This year, more than two thousand hectares of forest areas will be restored in the Tyumen region. Before the start of the season, the necessary amount of seeds is distributed to branches of the Tyumen airbase. Then they are put on stratification. In a hole under a layer of snow, they are stored until May. During this time, they get used to the winter cold and rest. Thus, the probability that the seeds will rise increases. The forest is mainly affected by illegal logging and fires. For example, in the summer of 2023 burned more than 28 thousand hectares. Recovery is a time-consuming process. This spring, seeds will be planted in nurseries and greenhouses. And in two years, the seedlings will go to the forest. The Department of Forestry will monitor their growth. It's going to last almost a century.
