Deptrans of Moscow began preparations for the first stage of the launch of an unmanned metro train. As expected, the first “smart” train, which can move without the control of the driver, will be launched later this year.
To organize unmanned traffic on the Great Ring Line (BCL), a “technological network” of 5G will be deployed, which will provide “reliable and ultra-fast communication” with infrastructure. This is reported in the telegram channel of the Ministry. The launch of unmanned traffic will be a historic event for the metro. Our priorities are safety and preservation of the world’s shortest rush hour intervals, said Maxim Liksutov, deputy mayor of the capital. According to him, later the technology will be extended to other lines of the Moscow metro. Earlier, the capital Deptrans announced preparations for the launch of regular passenger transportation by unmanned tram. It will run on route 10 in the area of Strogino in the north-west of the city.
