Volodin supported the initiatives of the UK on regulation of electric scooters

Earlier, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin appealed to Volodin with a request to consider the possibility of taking measures to solve problems related to the use of means of individual mobility. "The Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin instructed the relevant committees of the State Duma to study the proposals prepared by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation to ensure the safety of the use of electric scooters and other means of individual mobility (SIM) and to make legislative initiatives for their implementation," the report said. Earlier, the Moscow authorities proposed to install license plates on personal scooters and introduce the need to obtain rights to use powerful scooters, as for mopeds. Deputy Mayor for Transport Maxim Liksutov noted that it is planned to allocate each means of individual mobility a unique number for identification. He expressed hope that federal lawmakers would adopt their initiatives or propose solutions to improve road safety.
