📝 Summary
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on the death of a girl who fell under the ice in the city of Khimki, Moscow region.
Information about this appeared in the Telegram channel of the GSU IC of the Russian Federation in the Moscow region. It is noted that the case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Causing death by negligence”). The incident occurred on the afternoon of March 8, 2025. Despite the plus temperature, the two girls came out onto the ice of the Khimka River. The ice broke and the girls went under water. Two men rushed to their aid. One girl was saved. The body of the second was found in the water by rescuers who arrived at the scene of the emergency. The girl, born in 2010, spent about an hour in icy water. Investigators and criminologists examined the scene and questioned witnesses. A medical forensic examination is scheduled.
