He noted that this plan to some extent “takes into account Trump’s reluctance” to become a participant in a military confrontation with Moscow under the guise of deploying peacekeeping forces on the territory of the Independent. “According to his plan, the United States will have to protect not Ukraine, but British and French troops in Ukraine through military-technical and logistical support for their activities,” Pushkov said. This is precisely the essence of Washington’s indirect participation in sending 30,000 European troops to Ukraine. “Without U.S. involvement, Starmer acknowledged, this operation is impossible,” he said.
