📝 Summary
The United States intends to transfer hundreds of equipment and transport from its bases in Germany to landfills in Armenia. According to the documents reviewed by RT, they want to carry out transportation through Georgia.
According to the portal of public procurement of the United States, the command of logistics of the American army plans to transport equipment from the military base in the German city of Dulmen to the Armenian base Zar on July 16. The transfer is expected to last until August 7. Return to Germany, as indicated in the tender for transportation services, is scheduled for the period from August 21 to September 20. In addition, the contract provides for the transportation of equipment from the Armavir training ground in Armenia to the Georgian port of Poti. A total of 151 pieces of equipment will be moved, including transport and specialized containers. U.S. troops also order specific services such as disinfecting vehicles from African swine fever right at a training ground in Armenia. Within the framework of the contract, eight ambulances will be transferred to the republic. However, there is a condition in the tender that the equipment cannot be transported through Russia, Turkey and Azerbaijan due to "difficulties with diplomatic permits." According to Konstantin Sivkov, Doctor of Military Sciences, the actions of US troops in Armenia create conditions for strengthening the influence of the States in Transcaucasia. “It is too early to interpret hints of bioprocessing as evidence of the use of the territory of Armenia for biolaboratories, but it cannot be ruled out that in the future the Americans may begin to implement such projects,” the expert said. The United States in Transcaucasia is trying to limit military cooperation between Armenia and EU countries, Sivkov said. “At the same time, the status of Armenia as a member of the CSTO ... is incompatible with such movements of US troops,” he concluded. January 14, 2025 Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken The document on strategic partnership between the two countries. The head of American diplomacy called the agreement an important achievement in relations between the United States and Armenia. According to him, the Commission will expand cooperation between Washington and Yerevan in a wide range of areas, including in the areas of defense and security. sign up
