In general, fraudsters on the eve of the holiday use classic schemes, but connect to them an emotional factor, told RT Yuri Silayev, head of the laboratory of trusted artificial intelligence RTU MIREA, an expert of JSC CICADA. So, one-day sites are created with low prices for flowers and prepayment, after which the goods are not delivered, and it is impossible to contact the seller. Ads and contests are widely used in social networks, where you need to transfer money to receive a prize. Fake delivery services acquire relevance - the victim is offered urgent delivery of gifts, but after payment there is no delivery. “At the same time, various names are often used, very consonant with well-known logistics companies,” the expert explained. For women, scammers use SMS mailings about flower delivery – to get confirmation, the message is required to click on a link that either leads to a phishing site or installs malicious software on the phone. The expert called for vigilance when seeing messages with limited time – for example, where it is written that the action lasts only two hours: scammers put pressure on the victim’s emotions to turn off critical thinking. “It is necessary to remember that if the offer seems too profitable, then most likely it is a trap,” the analyst said. He added that users need to check sites for an SSL certificate, be careful with prepayment, avoid transfers to individual cards or through cryptocurrency. Earlier, experts told about fraudulent schemes of bypassing self-prohibition on loans.
