Andreasyan had a dispute with one of the college students during a discussion of films that were not made for financial gain, in particular, the film “Anora”. The director said that such a movie does not interest him, calling it “degraded”, and students “little kids” who are not able to win an Oscar. “I hate Tarkovsky. I hate author films. Tarkovsky is terrible. If you want to be beggars, finished, vomiting filmmakers, go, Andreasyan said. Later, he refused to discuss the film and left his lecture at the Moscow International Film School. The college confirmed the fact of the meeting and the incident, and also reported on the conversation with students. Andrei Tarkovsky is the author of cult films such as “Mirror”, “Stalker”, “Solaris”, “Andrey Rublev” and others. In September 2024, a Moscow court stripped Andreasyan of his driving license for 1.5 years for drunk driving. According to the director, the day before the incident, he only “drinked a glass of wine”.
