About thirty percent of film distribution in Russia should be reserved for films chosen by the state. This statement was made by People’s Artist of Russia and State Duma Deputy Dmitry Pevtsov in an interview with TASS.
The singers are convinced that the state should set its quota in the film distribution. It is necessary to show that 30% of the rental should be devoted to those films that the state considers important for the demonstration of audience. This movie has its value. Such films exist, but under the current system no one notices them. Singer also pointed to the current problem associated with private film distribution companies, which are focused on their profitability, and not on the interests of the state. According to him, the process of obtaining a rental license for the film is quite simplified: it is enough that the content of the film complies with the law. “However, this does not guarantee that films that are allowed to be rented will not be low-quality, unintelligent or of poor quality. They may have nothing to do with our country, he said. The actor added that this situation applies even to those films that are funded by the Ministry of Culture or the Cinema Foundation.
