Sergei Eisenstein, together with his colleagues, was a member of the jury of the film festival, but its chairman was the head of the Main Directorate of the Film Industry of the USSR Boris Shumyatsky. He will be shot in 1938. The Grand Silver Cup will be awarded to Lenfilm for affirming realistic style in Soviet cinematography. Among the awards displayed today in the corridors, this cup, alas, is not.
