The exhibition "Metamorphoses" united art universities of the capital

Works of teachers, graduates and students of Moscow art universities are presented at the exhibition "Metamorphosis". This name includes internal changes of a person, transformations in wildlife, and innovations in the field of art – it all depends on the preferences of the authors. A new look at the old headdress. “This is a kind of reworking of the image of the Russian national costume and the embodiment of the beauty of the Russian woman in modern materials, such as acrylic, glass, pearls and glass in the fusing technique,” explained the artist, teacher of the Stroganov Russian State University Elena Skoriolly. Painting, graphics, and decorative arts , the exhibition presents 70 works by 27 artists, including beginners. Each of the authors has its own way of presenting reality in an artistic form. These are the treasures of Kurgan: fish and moose. In our works we preserve folk motifs and transform them into modern art. Specifically, these sculptures were made on the art of the Scythians, said student Anna Blank. “The works were made of aluminum in casting technique, then followed by installation on a wooden beam to give the shape of a bunchuk,” added student Ekaterina Ryakhovskaya. Young authors are helped to implement their ideas by their teachers – some work is done under the guidance of mentors. They have their own teaching methods and an understanding of what folk art is. “The student is not simply a copy of nature. Art is the second nature, it is the spiritual nature. It is the expression of the idea and understanding of how people before you tried to do it, this is the most important thing, said sculptor, teacher of the Stroganov RGKPU Alexei Shpakovsky. The authors pay special attention to small cities – Tobolsk, Tarusa, Zaraysk. The exhibition is supported by the Foundation for the Revival of Culture and Traditions of Small Towns of Russia. “These cities preserve ancient culture, our national values, there are eternal monuments. It's got its roots. Many great people were born in these small cities and glorified our country, said the curator of the exhibition, artist Irina Akimova. In the works of artists there are internal transformations of man and mysterious transformations in living nature. Destruction and reconstruction, transformation and transition from one state to another. These are "metamorphoses.".
