Defenders of the Fatherland Cup is a project of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, which is implemented at the federal level jointly with the Russian Paralympic Committee. In the Komi Republic, the organizers of the competition are the regional branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation and the Komi Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports. The project is aimed at involving in sports and the Paralympic movement of veterans of the SVO who received military injuries, and is an important component of the system of comprehensive rehabilitation of heroes. The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Svetlana Suvorkina. Ivan Parfentiev (Syktyvkar) finished second. The bronze medal was won by Sergey Shostal (Ust-Vymsky district). In the open class gold at Andrei Ganov (Ust-Vymsky district). In second place Fedor Vityazev (Izhemsky district). Closed the three prize-winners Dmitry Aleshikhin (Syktyvdinsky district). Tomorrow, participants will compete in archery and a 500-meter race on hunting skis – lamps. The State Fund “Defenders of the Fatherland” was established by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Its main purpose is personal support of veterans of the SVO and family members of heroes. Specialists and social coordinators of the foundation help defenders not only with medical and social rehabilitation, but also in retraining and employment, provide legal support, adapt housing to the needs of disabled people and provide long-term home care. The fund is headed by State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Anna Tsivileva. Branches of the fund operate in all regions of Russia.
