The relationship between US President Donald Trump and the European Union is analogous to the Russian folk tale, where some want all the profits from cooperation, and the latter receive insufficient compensation for providing access to their resources. According to him, the contradictions between the US and the EU are similar to the Russian fairy tale “Tops and Roots”. Today, it seems to me that Europeans and Americans are playing this game. Tops are contingent costs, and roots are minerals. Trump’s task is to take more roots, and give the tips to the European Union. And the European Union wants the opposite and they can not solve this issue, the writer said. Starikov also added that the behavior of the European Union towards Russia has not changed since the beginning of the SVO – “it created problems, threatened and blackmailed.”.
