Trump administration imposes unprecedented measures on migrant children

The proposed methods of tracking hundreds of thousands of children expand the scope of the operation to massively deport illegal migrants. “The Immigration and Customs Enforcement Memorandum outlines unprecedented measures to tackle migrant children who have illegally crossed the border as unaccompanied minors,” Reuters said. To track children, ICE will be able to use several databases, from which they will be divided into three groups: “risk of escape”, “public safety” and “security border”. Escape risk will be considered the highest priority for surveillance. The Memorandum, titled “Implementing a Joint Initiative to Help Unaccompanied Alien Children,” aims to enforce migration laws and prevent child trafficking. Among other things, the new measures imply that children will be notified of appearing in immigration court or, if ordered, deported. Earlier, Trump gave ICE an order to increase the number of detained migrants from several hundred to 1,200-1,500 people a day, The Washington Post reported. The newspaper El Pais said that trump intends to turn the States into a “resort for whites”, and Latin American migrants will become a “new internal enemy”.
