A huge tumor of 18x18 cm was removed by doctors of the Regional Clinical Hospital No. 2, the Ministry of Health of the region reported.
At the end of January, a 65-year-old woman complained of abdominal pain. Examination revealed an endometrioid cyst the size of a melon. The operation to excise it lasted about 3 hours - it was necessary to exclude the entry of tumor fractions into nearby tissues. “It was also necessary to delicately separate the cyst from the mesh, which literally grew into it,” explained Deputy Chief Surgery Officer Andrey Merena. Surgeons removed the old nets, removed the cyst and performed plastic with the installation of an implant under the direct abdominal muscles.
