According to the investigation, on December 26, 2024, the father of the children, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, left the garland on the Christmas tree for the night and went to bed. At night, combustible materials ignited and smoke spread through the house. “Including in the room where children 16 and 10 years old slept,” the regional Investigative Committee said. They were unable to leave the premises in time and died as a result of poisoning by combustion products. The case was sent to the court for consideration on the merits, the department stressed.
