In the village of Vagai, Tyumen region today, March 5, 2025, the solemn lighting of the Eternal Flame took place within the framework of the All-Russian action "Keeping the Fire of Victory". Like the whole country, during the Great Patriotic War, the residents of the Vagai district stood up to defend the Motherland. 454 names of the fallen on the battlefield are marked on memorial plates. The first monument appeared here in the late 60s. And in May 2011, a monument was erected in its place: on one side of which there is a soldier with a lowered weapon, on the other - an elderly woman with a boy clutching a wrench. In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the Vagai district joins the All-Russian action “Keeping the Fire of Victory”. The right to light the Eternal Flame was granted to the Honorary Citizen of the District, Ataman Vladimir Shilovsky, a participant in a special military operation Ilshat Timirova and Yunarmey Ilina Yultasheva, the great-granddaughter of veterans of the Great Patriotic War. As part of the campaign “Keeping the Fire of Victory”, new Eternal Lights were lit in the Altai Republic, Novgorod and Ryazan regions. Gazprom is responsible for more than 1,800 Eternal Lights and Memory Lights throughout the country. In the Tyumen region this is the ninth object. In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the company will connect more than 120 memorials across the country to grid natural gas. The action will end with a large-scale event: on the eve of May 9, 80 Victory lights will be lit online at once throughout the country.
