Visiting Enigma Karen Durgaryan, a well-known Armenian conductor and director of the Armenian State Opera and Ballet Theatre, which under his leadership is gaining greater internal stability and international recognition. He began as a flutist, but at the insistence of the rector took up the study of conducting, after which there was a two-year internship in St. Petersburg with the legendary Ilya Musin, work as an assistant with the great Gennady Rozhdestvensky and a brilliant start to his career simultaneously with European orchestras and in his native Yerevan as the chief conductor of the theater, which he now heads as a director, demonstrating an amazing devotion to both the walls in which he grew up and took place as a musician, and the people who once believed in him.
