Whitcoff also expressed regret that some people make such assessments without first-hand knowledge. “I know I’ve heard body language: I’ve seen a constructive effort over a long period of time to discuss the details of what’s going on on the ground,” Whitcoff said. He also stressed that the issue of the ceasefire in Ukraine is very complex. However, future discussions on the issue continue to be the focus. Earlier, Whitcoff told CBS about the significant progress made in a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He stressed that the talks lasted about four hours and covered many details. In addition, Whitkoff said in the same interview that the conversation between Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin and the United States Donald Trump will signal a positive impulse and Washington’s readiness to resolve the situation in Ukraine. He stressed that the “real” relationship between Trump and Putin continues to exist, and expressed confidence in the successful course of negotiations.
