Zakharova responded to Zelensky's words about Russian speakers with quotes from Hitler.

She commented on Zelensky's words that countries where Russian speakers live are at risk of conflict with Russia. "Neo-Nazism in action. This is who the leader of the Kiev regime is reviving," Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel. The diplomat cited excerpts from the 1941 transcript of Hitler's meeting with the Romanian Foreign Minister Mihai Antonescu. The Nazi dictator then, in particular, spoke of the "biological," rather than ideological nature of the so-called "Slavic problem," stating that "the struggle against Slavs should be carried out by all Europeans." At the same time, Hitler pointed out that the "Russian problem is much more serious than many think." In this context, the Nazi leader called for "finding solutions for the colonization and biological elimination of Slavs." Earlier, she pointed out that statements by Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron about intentions to "defend Europe" show that the "ghost of Napoleonism" is now haunting there.
