Blagoveshchensk is preparing to meet a new sports facility - a year-round ice arena, which will become an integral part of the infrastructure of Amur State University. The construction of the facility is reaching the finish line. There is little work left: there is installation of facades, laying of engineering networks and interior decoration of the premises. Construction is under constant supervision of specialists. Gagarin Arena, equipped with artificial ice, will not only serve as a base for training students, but will also become a center of attraction for all winter sports fans in the city. The complex with an area of more than 4 thousand squares includes an ice platform, stands for 300 people, six changing rooms, rooms for coaches and judges, a medical office and a radio room. The opening of the arena is scheduled for this summer. The project is implemented within the framework of the federal program “Priority 2030”, aimed at the development of educational institutions of the country. With the appearance of the Gagarin Arena in the region, a powerful impetus is expected for the development of hockey and figure skating, as well as improving conditions for active recreation of citizens, the regional government noted.
