Amur athletes competed for top spots in a handball tournament in Zeya in the Russian Far East. Three women's and six men's teams from the Amur region and Primorsky Krai came to test their strength. The title of the best was contested by women's teams from Blagoveshchensk, Zeya, and Ivanovka. In the end, the gold went to the girls from Zeya, the Blagoveshchensk handball players took second place, and the bronze went to the Ivanovka athletes, according to the press service of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Amur region. Among the men's teams, representatives of "Legion" from Blagoveshchensk, "Vityaz" and "Rusich" from Vladivostok, as well as Ivanovka's "Atlanta" tried to break into the top. They faced competition from two teams from Zeya. The team "Vityaz" took first place in the competition, the Blagoveshchensk "Legion" received the silver medal, and the Zeya Sports Club took third place. The tournament was dedicated to the memory of Hero of the Soviet Union Sergey Klepikov. It is one of the oldest in the region, having been held for almost 40 years. In mid-April, a handball Spartakiad of cities in the Amur region will be held in Zeya.
