Tomenko said that the investigation of this crime is under special control of the regional investigative and supervisory authorities. “The perpetrators must be held accountable according to law and justice – as is the case with any other crimes in the region,” he wrote on his Telegram channel. The governor also informed that on his behalf, the head of the department of the regional government for domestic policy Nikolai Hubert is now working in the Zavyalovsky district. Tomenko recalled that Onishchenko worked in his post since 2022. For now, the district will be headed by one of the deputy heads of the local administration. Nikolai Onishchenko was shot on Tuesday, March 4, while leaving a cafe in the village of Zavyalovo. According to preliminary data, he was killed by two shots from a hunting rifle. It is assumed that Onishchenko was shot by the former head of the local committee on youth Affairs Anatoly Fenin. The motive for the punishment could be professional activity. After the murder, he wanted to commit suicide, but the attempt was unsuccessful. Now the man is in intensive care in critical condition.
