The world’s largest black poplar fell in the Sarapul district of Udmurtia. This was reported by biologist Alexander Kondratiev on his personal page in the social network “Vkontakte”. The giant tree grew in the Dubrovo tract. It was discovered in 2020. Coverage of the poplar trunk was 6.9 meters, and at the roots - 9.6 meters. Its height at the time of discovery was 33-34 meters. The tree broke in the second half of last year. Because of the wind, the upper half of the poplar collapsed under its own weight. Now a huge trunk with a massive branch continues to stick out of the ground.
