Beauty contest "Lady Elegant Age" was held in Welsk

Perfect hairstyle, impeccable makeup - to applause, the participants take the stage. "Lady of an elegant age" - to call them grandmothers language does not turn. They look great! Women at least 60 years old can become queen in this beauty contest. They read poetry, sing and dance. Talents are evaluated by an authoritative jury: representatives of the administration, deputies and public figures. Oksana Martyanova, Deputy Head of the Welsky District for Social Affairs: It is very difficult to judge. Since all the ladies, they are all worthy, they are all elegant, kind, gentle, affectionate, giving warmth, and also excellent cooks. Defile in many participants caused excitement. They are not used to walking on the catwalk. But this evening is special. The ladies are not in house robes, but luxurious dresses. They show off their images gracefully. The contest “Lady Elegant Age” is part of the regional program “Active Longevity”. The standard of female beauty in Welsk is chosen for the second time. Svetlana Palkina, Director of the Welsh Comprehensive Center for Social Services: The first time we had six participants, and this year we had eight. The number of participants is increasing. For example, one of the main objectives of the contest “Lady of Elegant Age” is to provide elderly people with the use of their artistic and intellectual potential for self-realization. But like any beauty pageant, there can only be one queen. She became Galina Bogdanova - a participant in the brightest outfit, which she sewed specifically for this event. Galina Bogdanova, winner of the contest “Lady Elegant Age”: “We have such a team in Solga – it’s all! We have a women's council, veterans, and at the club we have girls! Valya Zvezdina, Tatiana Shunina, they prepared us. I was all dressed. They did everything for me to go.” On the holiday of life from the hall looks the guest of honor - a resident of besieged Leningrad - Sukhanovskaya Lyubov Timofeevna. In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, she was awarded a jubilee medal. A symbol of boundless gratitude to those who endured the hardships of the war.
