An informal summit of European leaders was held in London on Sunday to discuss the situation in Ukraine. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that everything possible will be done to create a “coalition willing” to protect the deal in Ukraine, and security guarantees for Kiev should have the support of the United States. Two longtime US allies (the UK and France) intend in the coming days to introduce Trump to the “Europe Plus” group, which includes non-EU countries, potentially including Canada, to get his approval. After the summit, Starmer told reporters that Britain, France and other countries would work with Ukraine on a plan to end the fighting, then the plan would be discussed with the US. Bloomberg notes that some representatives of the Trump administration are not ready to abandon negotiations with Ukraine, despite the conflict with Zelensky, which occurred on Friday. At the same time, another part of the staff of the administration of the American president insists that Zelensky resign as part of any deal. Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a joint plan with Britain to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. The plan envisages a ceasefire for a month, after which European peacekeepers can be sent to Ukraine.
