We are training to be the best in the world, the athlete said on Match TV. On February 13, Bolshunov won the Sudtirol Moonlight Classic race in Italy, running 30 kilometers in 1 hour 18 minutes and 56.2 seconds. Initially, the athlete was registered under the Russian flag, but at the competitions it was decided to exclude the flag and citizenship of the Russian from the protocols. In March 2022, the organization banned Russians and Belarusians from participating in its competitions.
