On Thursday, the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Sadyr Zhaparov and Emomali Rahmon signed an agreement on the state border. The disputed areas have been negotiated for 23 years. "The resolution of border issues will undoubtedly ... contribute to improving security in the CSTO area of responsibility," the organization said in a statement. In addition, the document will contribute to the development of regional cooperation and the implementation of the CSTO tasks, the secretariat noted. The organization also emphasizes that it welcomes the conclusion of the contract.
