“Eight Angry Women” took the stage of the Moscow Art Theater

Eight Angry Women took to the stage of the Moscow Art Theatre. The play by Robert Tom was directed by director and choreographer Alla Sigalova, and the detective in pink saw Jan Music. Roses and pearls are glossy stamps about how the world of a woman should be. But all these accessories look like a fake, a fake. Like the women who live here, they are fake. The genre of the play developed in the process of rehearsals. In this sweet, phantasmagoric space created by the artist Maria Tregubova, the actresses first existed on the principle of counterpoint – documentary and realistic. “Then we realized that if we existed in this way, all this beauty would eat us in a second, and no one would ever see or understand anything that spoke red on a red background. So gradually we began to gain momentum, shared actress Anna Chipovskaya. In the bedroom there is a dead man with a knife in his back. There are 8 women in the house for whom he was an important person. The killer is clearly among them. Everyone suspects everyone. This French comedy is usually put as something lightweight, entertaining. But Alla Sigalova in the criminal drama wants to seriously talk about the relationship between the male world and the female. “The material is quite flat. But what you can put in it, what meanings you can hide and show, and open - that's the most important thing, said the director, choreographer, Honored Artist of Russia Alla Sigalova. In endless questions and suspicions, secrets and vices of 8 heroines are revealed. Everyone has skeletons in the closet, a beautiful picture is deceiving. “For me, this is a story about how the essence of man is revealed in extreme circumstances. And in the end, it is unclear what is more valuable - what kind of mask a person wore or what he is real, - said the Honored Artist of Russia Daria Moroz. Were they all too focused on this man? Or is everyone just thinking about themselves and nobody really loves anyone? All these women are competing with each other. “If all women were for one, they would rule the world. And while we're apart, this world is run by men. They are in solidarity with each other, believe me, said actress Alexandra Child. The symbolic creators of the play consider the figure itself in the title. "8 Angry Women" and "8" as a sign of infinity.
