In 2024, the main trading partners of the Russian Federation in Europe were Belarus, Germany and Italy. The latter closed the top three in terms of trade for the first time since 2015, follows from the data of statistical services and statements of officials.
Minsk is the main European trading partner of Moscow for the second year in a row. Trade turnover with Belarus grew by 7.4% to $57.6 billion. In second place is Germany with an indicator of 9.5 billion dollars. Third place behind Italy – the total trade turnover of Rome and Moscow amounted to 8.4 billion dollars. Next come France, Hungary and the Netherlands with indicators of 6.4 billion dollars, 6.2 billion dollars and 6.1 billion dollars, respectively, according to RIA Novosti. According to the FCS, the trade turnover between Russia and Europe in 2024 amounted to 141.5 billion dollars. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said last year that all European countries continue to trade with Russia, but only Hungary is not hiding and does so openly.
