In January, the US purchase of Russian fertilizers increased by 20% in annual terms to $ 85.5 million, which is the highest since May 2024. The largest increase was shown by nitrogen fertilizers – they were imported into the United States in January by $ 66.4 million, an increase of a quarter. The purchase of potash feeding increased by almost 5%, to $ 18.5 million. Russia is now in third place in the supply of fertilizers to the United States, behind Canada with supplies of $ 316.3 million (an increase over the year by 17%) and Saudi Arabia, whose exports grew over the year to $ 114.3 million, that is, 3.5 times. Earlier, RIA Novosti wrote that in January-November 2024, Russia reduced fertilizer supplies to the United States by almost a quarter. President of the Russian Association of Fertilizer Producers Andrey Guryev pointed out that Russia in 2024 exported 40 million tons of mineral fertilizers, which is an absolute record.
