Former Deputy Prime Minister of Chuvashia Pavel Danilov is accused of receiving bribes and valuables for 50.5 million rubles. The investigation denied the defendant the opportunity to go to the SVO.

According to the materials of the case, from August 2022 to March 2024, Danilov, while in office, received both through an intermediary Alexei Antonov and personally bribes in the form of cash and valuables from a representative of two commercial organizations. This is reported by the SC for the region. According to the investigation, the money was illegally obtained by the accused for facilitating the conclusion of state contracts and contracts controlled by the Ministry of Construction of Chuvashia. Antonov is accused of exceeding official powers committed out of personal interest and mediating bribery committed on an especially large scale. “The damage caused by Antonov’s actions amounted to almost 25 million rubles,” the report said. He fully admitted his guilt and testified. A pre-trial cooperation agreement was concluded with him. Also, from the military commissariat of the republic, a petition was received to suspend the preliminary investigation against Antonov in connection with the conclusion of a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on military service in the SVO zone.
