The Supreme Court of the Republic of Dagestan sentenced two residents of Makhachkala, who brewed coffee over the Eternal Flame, to a year of suspended imprisonment each.
They were charged under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation about insulting the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland, committed publicly, by a group of persons. In court, the girls said that they realized their guilt and, trying to rehabilitate themselves, laid flowers at the monument “Soldier-Liberator”, met with veterans, visited an orphanage. The Supreme Court examined the data on the personalities of the defendants, took into account the presence of mitigating circumstances, as well as their behavior and appointed the girls a punishment not related to real deprivation of liberty, according to the Telegram channel of the joint press service of the courts of Dagestan. According to RIA Novosti, the girls of 1995 and 1986, born on June 3, 2023, brewed coffee in two Turks over the Eternal Flame at the monument to the Liberator Warrior in the Lenin Komsomol Park in Makhachkala.
