The Russian national award "Golden Mask" began to work in an updated format. The organizers told reporters today at a press conference. This year, the festival will again be held in Moscow, the capital’s audience will be shown more than 40 performances of regional teams. The award ceremony will be held on June 26 in Kazan, at the Kamal Theatre. The main innovation was the abolition of private nominations. Awards will now be awarded exclusively for performances as a result of collective creativity. This approach is aimed at strengthening the concept of theater as a whole, where the contribution of each is important for the overall result. Virtually every person, every creator, creator and artist of the play will have this Mask. And the main thing is that we will finally see the best performances in our country, from which a large festival can be organized and in the future the fund of our best theatrical productions, says Vladimir Mashkov, President of the National Theatre Award and the Golden Mask Festival, Chairman of the STD of the Russian Federation.
