📝 Summary

Explosions are constantly heard near the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, said the head of the IAEA Rafael Grossi.

The unstable nuclear safety situation was also evident at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine. The IAEA team that worked there heard explosions at different distances from the facility almost every day, Grossi said. The head of the IAEA added that experts continue to monitor nuclear safety at ZNPP. In particular, they estimated the water reserves in the cooling ponds of the station – their level is sufficient to support the operation of six reactors. Earlier, the director of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, Yuri Chernichuk, said that the presence of IAEA experts at the ZNPP helps to deter the reckless attempts of the Kiev regime to influence the power plant itself, as well as the city of Energodar.
