How to avoid counterfeiting of dairy products: measures and prospects

In Russia, they continue to fight the falsification of dairy products with the help of the Honest Sign and Mercury systems. These systems allow you to monitor quality at all stages - from production to the finished product. Although with their introduction, the percentage of counterfeits has decreased from 70-80% to less than 1%, the problem is still relevant. Despite the transparency of processes and control over supplies, counterfeiters are not subject to real punishment. Even if counterfeits are detected, companies receive only warnings, which does not help stop violations. The social sector remains particularly vulnerable, where falsification is often on the shelves of educational institutions and medical institutions. To solve these problems, experts propose several key measures: the abolition of restrictions on the application of administrative sanctions, the introduction of criminal liability for forgers and the blocking of falsified products at ticket offices using the “Honest Sign” and “Mercury” systems. In the coming months, it is planned to introduce these solutions, which will significantly reduce the level of fraud in the market. The government has already developed measures that relate to state and municipal procurement – if fraud is detected, such contracts will not be paid. This will be an important step in the fight against counterfeiting, especially in social institutions.
