IDF sends tanks to Jenin for first time in 20 years

During the operation in the northern part of the West Bank, the Israeli military sent a tank division to the Jenin area. This is the first time since Operation Protective Wall was launched 20 years ago, Kan radio reported. The statement said IDF forces, the General Security Service and the Border Police are continuing their counterterrorism operation in northern Samaria. As part of this operation, the military is expanding its operations in the area. The Nahal Brigade and Duvdevan Special Forces began operating in additional villages in the Jenin area. At the same time, the tank division will operate in Jenin as part of an offensive effort. The IDF said military units continue to operate in the Jenin and Tulkarma areas of the northern West Bank. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz commented on the introduction of tanks in the Jenin area. He said 40,000 Palestinians had left the Jenin, Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps. There are currently no civilians in these camps. Earlier, Israeli Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the IDF is going to hold a WHO in the West Bank after explosions in buses in the suburbs of Tel Aviv.
