In Novosibirsk developed ultralight and durable material for drones and prosthetics

Ten years ago, snowboarding was just a bold idea by a few academics. But the process was so exciting that they created a company with their own technology and material that allows you to make lightweight heavy-duty prostheses. It turned out that carbon layers impregnated with epoxy resin are suitable for artificial foot. To test the development invited Vladimir Yanin, who happened to wear prosthetics of all existing manufacturers. With his hints, the Novosibirsk version was brought to the ideal. This is the only prosthesis that I could not break, Vladimir shared. At the same time, the model is light, with a good roll. There are options for patients with different weights. From day to day, the feet will be tested on the stands. This is a necessary condition to start production of the series. By the way, there are no more than a dozen companies in Russia that produce such domestic prostheses. Novosibirsk at the initial stage are ready to make 100-150 pieces per month. But these are not all areas where super material can be useful. Now the company is looking towards aviation, while unmanned. “A screw was made for a 30-inch drone. It contains several layers of carbon fiber tissue, weighing 85 grams. At the highest speeds, it lifts 20 kilograms, says Vitaly Losev, CEO of the company. The first customers are already there, and their number will clearly grow with the development of the industry, as well as the company’s experience in quickly bringing innovative developments to the market. At the first stage, the Ministry of Science of the region helped the project with subsidies. “We got a good link with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which provides financing, which allows the sample to be brought from the experimental stage to the industrial production of a small series,” said Vadim Vasiliev, Minister of Science and Innovation Policy of the Novosibirsk Region. The company plans to occupy new areas in the second stage of the Academpark in order to be ready for the growth of production volumes.
