📝 Summary
The Novosibirsk Regional Court recognized as lawful the decision to replace the unserved sentence in the colony with correctional work for Nikita Lazkov, who was found guilty of an accident that caused the death of journalist Anton Luchansky. This is reported by GTRK "Novosibirsk".
The tragedy occurred on March 30, 2020. The journalist of GTRK Novosibirsk was returning home from work by tram. When the man got out at his stop, he was hit at high speed by a Mercedes car. At the wheel of the car was 27-year-old Nikita Lazkov. As it turned out later, he was in a state of drug intoxication. Doctors, unfortunately, could not save the life of the 45-year-old journalist, he died of his injuries. The examination found traces of a prohibited substance in Lazkov’s blood, namely marijuana. It became an aggravating circumstance. The accused was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison while serving his sentence in a general regime colony. The lawyers tried several times to challenge the court’s decision and only for the third time the defense’s request was granted. Nikita Lazkov will be released and will spend about two years in forced labor.
